Otherwise, it's ok to just continue where the anime left off. Basically, read some of the early chapters, if you like it, read through it all. The physical copies of the manga got better redrawings from what I heard. It can be hard to read through the art sometimes, because sometimes it feels as if the author is just phoning it in on the online scans. But if you don't want to, it's fine to just read from where the anime left off. Now, Yusuke is a ghost with a mission, performing good deeds at the behest of Botan, the ferrywoman of. When he died saving a little kid from a speeding car, the afterlife didn’t know what to do with him, so it gave him a second chance at life. I think they did the small changes to change the flow of the story? In any case, if you have the time, I would say read through the whole manga. Yusuke Urameshi was a tough teen delinquent until one selfless act changed his ending it. The HxH 2011 adaptation is pretty on point with the manga, except for one or two things here and there. The last arc was pretty cool, although less about saving the world and more about fighting, so the story was kind lackluster but the character development was pretty nice. It did get a little dull after the Dark Tournament for a while, but it was a setup for the next arc, I suppose. In any case, I think the anime does the series well. The animation is old, so think Dragon Ball Z type of action where I think there are tons of fast cuts and dashed lines to indicate action and such (I think that's how it went, again, long time no see). He wears a toga, what appear to be leopard skin leg warmers, and has a red sash as a belt.īyakko has a large appetite, both for energy and food which is a main motivation for his escape from Maze Castle, as he does not have any prey, and when presented with prey, he will attempt to have that prey be eaten, and will beat up an enemy until there is enough room for him to eat. From what I remember (it's been a while since I've watched the anime, nostalgia glasses on!), the anime is a pretty close adaptation of the manga. It seemed that he couldn't be killed until the third Saint Beast, Seiryu, betrayed Byakko and had the latter executed for his failure.īyakko takes the appearance of a large humanoid tiger with mane-like sea green hair that flows down his back, light bluish fur with grey stripes on his arms, cheeks and legs, and two bottom canine teeth large enough to reach up his cheeks. It seemed the Byakko was dead until he jumped out of the lava. He used his sword to pole jump and kick Byakko into the lava. Even though Kuwabara was managing his Byakko with his Sprirt Sword, Byakko was actually absorbing the sprirt energy that was coming out of the sword, making him bigger and stronger.īyakko used his mighty roar to destroy most of the arena, but Kuwabara decided he still wanted to fight. So Kuwabara wrapped the four beasts around leaving them completely immoblize.Īfter his minions were defeated, Byakko decided to fight Kuwabara. But despite them being stabbed, they were still active. Kuwabara cowarded away, but manage to use his Sword Get Long technique and stabbed the Byakko's minions. When Kuwabara used his sprirt sword, Byarro was impressed with the sword. Byakko thought that no human could defeat him so he summoned forth an army of beast-like minion to fight Kuwabara. Hiei decided he wanted to fight Byakko, but Kuwabara told him to back off because he told them the next saint beast was his. After Genbu the first Saint Beast was killed, Yusuke and his friends/allies encountered, Byakko the second Saint Beast.
